One of the front panel USB 3.0 ports on my computer is not working properly. The system is a custom built PC running Windows 10 with an ASUS H87M-E motherboard and a generic case with two front panel USB 3.0 ports. and here is what happens: When I plug in a USB flash drive it makes the "new device" noise but the USB flash drive is not mounted. The USB ports are not functioning for any device and is true in my MB UEFI screen not just Windows. The only USB ports that are working are the USB 2.0 ports on my case. My MB only has USB 3.0 on the back panel. I have a ASRock z97 Extreme6 and my BIOS version is 2.70. In Device manager I have an unknown USB device (configuration descriptor Same problem. USB 3.0 suddenly doesn´t recognize my usb 3.0 flash drive. ONLY solution that I was able to come up with is simply go to the BIOS - MAIN - DISBALE xHCI Support. Exit and save - reboot. Now your usb port will be 2.0 and will be able to read the unreadble 3.0 flash drive. Anker cable works as expected - I connect it to the PC and my Quest and the Oculus Link dialog box pops up right away, unfortunately this is not the case for the Link cable. USB-C and working (for Anker) USB-A are located on the back next to each other. Ports on the front panel also work. But not the USB-C - after plug in - the Quest chargers In Windows, search for and open Device Manager . The Device Manager window opens. Double-click Universal Serial Bus Controllers to expand the list. Double-click a USB Root Hub, click the Power tab, then click Power Properties (if it is shown). Note: The Power tab displays only in USB 2.0. I have an HP 250 g3 laptop. I clean installed windows 10 64bit and the USB ports dont work. In device manager Under Universal Serial Bus Controller it shows -Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible host controller - 1.0(microsoft) -USB root Hub(xHCI) and wheneever i connect a USB i get -Unknown USB Device(Port Have Rift number one. .It never worked with my USB 3.0s. When connecting a memory stick to the USB 2.0 port the power led on the memory stick lights up but the data led doesn't. The computer is not reacting at all to the inserted USB memory. The USB memory is working fine in the other 3.0 ports. I've tried also to connect other USB the only port that I still have running is the 3.1Gen2 port. (the usb ports aren't recognised in windows10 or in the BIOS). in Device Manager, ASMedia USB Root Hub drivers are installed and up to date. ASMedia USB 3.1 eXtensible Host Controller drivers are installed and up to date (disabling this stops the single USB3.1 port from working) Below are the information of my system.
